چکیده
The electric Arc Furnace Dust (EAFD) sample leaching using two different organic carboxylic anions has been previously studied, as a separate article. aim of the present research work (Part II) is study on kinetics EAFD, comparing efficiency sodium citrate with that sulfuric acid solutions. effect solid / liquid ratio, temperature and reagent concentration in solutions metallic dissolution was analyzed. In both cases, more stable phase franklinite (ZnFe2O4) experienced minimal decomposition at room temperature, although almost complete extraction zinc possible higher temperatures. conformed to reaction-controlled Shrinking Core Model. Using Arrhenius expression, apparent activation energies for lead dissolutions H2SO4 were evaluated. On other hand, showed promise due its selectivity non-ferrous metals oxides (ZnO PbO).

A KINETIC STUDY ON THE CARBOTHERMIC REDUCTION OF ZINC OXIDE FROM ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE DUST
In the present study, reduction of zinc oxide from the pellets made of steelmaking electric arc furnace dust has been investigated. Effects of such parameters as the type of carbon material (graphite, coke and charcoal) as well as time and temperature on the reduction reaction have been examined. The reduced (dimensionless) time method was applied to perform a kinetic analysis of the system. Ex...
متن کاملSeparation of Manganese and Iron from Reductive Leaching Liquor of Electric Arc Furnace Dust of Ferromanganese Production Units by Solvent Extraction
Electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) of ferromanganese production units, in the form of slurry, contains tar, alkalies, manganese, zinc, iron, silica, calcium, aluminum and other elements. A hydrometallurgical route based on solvent extraction technique was investigated for selective separation of manganese from the dust. Leaching of the EAFD resulted in an aqueous feed containing 4 g/L of manganes...
متن کاملElectric Arc Furnace Slag and Blast Furnace Dust, Use for the Manufacture of Asphalt Concrete for Roads
This paper analyzes how feasible it is to use electric arc furnace slag as coarse aggregate, and blast furnace dust as fine aggregate in the manufacture of hot asphalt concrete for roads. Three mixtures were designed using the Ramcodes methodology, the M1 mixture of control with conventional materials, the M2 mixture replacing 50% and the M3 mixture replacing 100% of the conventional aggregates...
متن کاملKinetics of the Volatilization Removal of Lead in Electric Arc Furnace Dust
The selective removal of lead and chlorine with minimizing zinc loss from electric arc furnace (EAF) dust is very important in the process for recovering high purity zinc from the EAF dust by high temperature metal recovery (HTMR) processes. In this study, the volatilization reaction of lead contained in the EAF dust was investigated at reaction temperatures between 973 and 1223K in air. The ma...
متن کاملPotential Reuse of Electric-Arc Furnace Dust (EAFD) in Concrete
This study investigated electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) reuse as a raw material in concrete mixes. A comprehensive experimental program consisting of two phases of testing was carried out. The first phase included the replacement of ordinary Portland (Type I) cement by unsieved dust with the percentages of 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10%. The second phase included the replacement of quartz (filler) by ...
